LEGO® Based Group Therapy
Service Description
For ages: 8 - 12 yo LEGO® Based Therapy is an evidence-based small group program that was designed specifically for people on the autism spectrum. Targeted for children aged 8-12 years, It is unique amongst social skill programs as it is intrinsically motivating as it uses the child’s interest in LEGO® to help them engage with the people around them. Unlike most social skill programs, LEGO® Based Therapy teaches awareness and engagement instead of a set of social “skills”. This helps children learn to engage with the people around them more naturally and instinctively that remains true to their neurotype. Lego Therapy is about co-operative and prosocial play, and inhibition control. During this program participants will learn to interact, communicate, collaborate and socialise with their peers, while having fun, in a supportive and understanding environment.
