NDPT is an approach used with children who are often too young to rely heavily on conversational approaches to therapy or are not emotionally ready for talking therapies. NDPT allows children to use play to explore and express their experiences with an adult safely and understandably for the child. NDPT can also be used with older children who cannot explore their experiences in conversation or children who have speech and/or cognitive delays.
